This comprehensive refurbishment, restoration extension and conversion of a dilapidated hotel created the accommodation for 64 senior students attending the Royal Ballet School in Floral Street and the residential apartments for their support staff.
The design has been ‘future proofed’ to allow for up to 94 students. The grade II listed building is located in a conservation area at a prominent position on the corner of Warwick Way and St Georges Drive in Pimlico and we have added an extra floor and substantial rear extension to the original building. Working closely with Cunnane Town Planning Consultants we were able to demonstrate not only that the proposed use of the building was desirable but also that the proposed extensions and alterations would enhance and protect the conservation area.
